After her business partner and best friend died two years ago from mucosal melanoma, a rare type of skin cancer, my guest Sarah Graham Fuhrmann, was forced to figure out how to carry on the indoor rowing business they had founded together 10 years earlier.

It was difficult not only losing someone she loved but also the person, well-known for her rowing expertise, their "icanrow2" business was built around.

Sarah had to deal with her grief, along with the challenges of "imposter syndrome." She wrestled with how she could possibly run the company without the rowing experience her partner had brought to the table.

But she finally realized she had other extremely valuable, and just as important, business experience as well as other strengths, built over a long career of other jobs. And she also had very experienced "rowing" coaches that had been trained in the rowing certification program she and her partner had created.

Having zero experience in farming, with her only exposure with animals in raising two cats and a poodle, my latest guest Deborah Niemann bravely took on the challenge of moving to the country in 2002 to start growing organic food.
