Episode 78: My 3 Tips For Surviving The Empty Nest

mindset Dec 17, 2020

When you have spent most of your life as a mom, it's a major transition to adjust your life without your kids being around. One day they are there and then poof, they are gone! And many of us parents feel lost when the that happens and are left feeling lost and without purpose.

After my Midlife Mindset Mastery last week, I received several emails from women who are struggling with the empty nest and it prompted the idea for this episode.

Since I already had the idea, I didn't use pull an Energy Oracle card as I often do to get inspiration for topics. BUT, right before I hit record, I decided to pull one anyway to see if the card would give me any additional inspiration to add to the topic I had decided upon.

I'm not sure why these card pulls still amaze me... Time and time again, they are EXACTLY in line with what is needed at the moment. I swear it's uncanny and it's made me such a believer that the universe is always listening to us.

As I mentioned on the episode, the card is:...

Episode 77: My Daughter, Nikki Johnson: Fellow Midlife Entrepreneur & Instigator Of My Late-in-Life Career Switch

This episode is by far my most favorite because I get to spend almost an hour chit-chatting with one of my most favorite people, my oldest daughter, Nikki, Johnson, who is now old enough to qualify as a midlifer!!! Shocking I know!

We talk about her entrepreneurial journey and how it has transformed in the past couple of years from running a multi 6 figure network marketing business to starting her own company.

She's a Certified Crystal Healer, a Reiki Level II Practitioner, a Spiritual Coach, and the founder of the High Vibe School.

Nikki's passion is evident as she talks about living authentically and helping other women, especially stressed moms to find joy in their lives by raising their vibrations and building self-confidence

She talks about her initial skepticism about the "woo" and how she began researching the science behind it which led her to a deep interest in crystals and a then desire to get certified. She draws on her extensive knowledge to teach others about them ...

Episode 76: Rebounding From The Loss of Her Best Friend And Business Partner with Sarah Graham Fuhrmann

career health Dec 06, 2020

After her business partner and best friend died two years ago from mucosal melanoma, a rare type of skin cancer, my guest Sarah Graham Fuhrmann, was forced to figure out how to carry on the indoor rowing business they had founded together 10 years earlier.

It was difficult not only losing someone she loved but also the person, well-known for her rowing expertise, their "icanrow2" business was built around.

Sarah had to deal with her grief, along with the challenges of "imposter syndrome." She wrestled with how she could possibly run the company without the rowing experience her partner had brought to the table.

But she finally realized she had other extremely valuable, and just as important, business experience as well as other strengths, built over a long career of other jobs. And she also had very experienced "rowing" coaches that had been trained in the rowing certification program she and her partner had created.

Now Sarah, even with the challenge of the pandemic and having ...

Episode 75: The Truth About Success and Hard Work

mindset Dec 04, 2020

Does hard work ALWAYS equal success or can you actually DO LESS and still have amazing success?

I pulled an Energy Oracle card from my deck titled "Action" to inspire this episode and it has a 2 horses galloping, one in front that is white and one that is following in black. The white horse implies intuition and taking action based on your inner voice. And the black horse implies the outer work - the actual tasks that we are conditioned to do that often overtake our life.

What I've learned is that my busy work, while very satisfying in many ways (because I love to check off tasks as I complete them!), was actually suppressing my inner voice that would have guided and enlightened me to do things differently and better. And by applying this inner work daily, meaning intentionally putting inner work on my To Do list, I've found so much more success this past year.

In October and November, I had my most successful months, in terms of revenue, since I left my corporate job to become ...

Episode 73: Your Intentions Of Today Are Your Results Of Your Tomorrows

mindset Nov 27, 2020

Today's message is coming straight from my intuition, combined with a card from my Energy Oracle card deck, and it's that operating intentionally in life will lead you to personal healing and happiness.

As I was contemplating the subject to discuss this week, I did what I often do... pulled a card. And the card that came up was titled: "Door to Personal Healing And Happiness." But  later that same day, on THREE separate occasions, the word intention came up. So I thought maybe that's a sign I should talk about intention this week.

I didn't see the connection between that card's message and intention UNTIL I decided to do a 2nd card pull. You see, I needed more PROOF of what I should talk about because my mind wasn't connecting the two... Crazy I know because it's so clear to me now!

So before I decided on the subject of today's episode, I went back to my card deck, shuffled 3 times and picked the card that stuck up the most - because clearly it was wanting to be picked!

I actual...

Marian, who clearly practices what she preaches a...

Episode 71: From Novice To Expert: How A Desire For A Different Way Of Life Became The Best Teacher Of All With Deborah Niemann

career mindset Nov 15, 2020

Having zero experience in farming, with her only exposure with animals in raising two cats and a poodle, my latest guest Deborah Niemann bravely took on the challenge of moving to the country in 2002 to start growing organic food. Although the move was a long time dream of Deborah's, she was a complete novice and learned as she went.

Her desire to grow her own food, turned into raising and breeding goats for her family's dairy needs that include milk, cheese, butter, yogurt and even soap. Deborah’s first 2 goats quickly turned into 20, and her desire to make a simple chévre launched a new career helping others raise goats and learn to be more self-reliant and create a more sustainable life.

Naturally, she encountered lots of difficulties while raising goats without experience. She had goats die, have difficulty getting pregnant & staying pregnant, and often found no vets who could help her. So she began researching on her own and decided to share her knowledge with others. She has...
